AND ALSO DURING THIS TIME, THERE WAS A SLAB LEAK REPAIR, A NEW AIR CONDITIONING UNIT INSTALLED. AND MS. TAYLOR WAS VERY AMAZED BY EVERYONE OUT THERE, CARING FOR HER IN A WAY THAT SHE'S NEVER BEEN CARED FOR BEFORE. AND SHE EVEN ASKED ME, UH, WHAT'S OUR NAME? WE GOTTA HAVE A NAME. AND I TOLD HER, THIS IS PROJECT TAYLOR. AND SHE KIND OF LAUGHED AND SAID I WAS CREATIVE LIKE HER, BECAUSE SHE'S ALSO KNOWN AS THE RAPID GRANNY. UM, OTHER THINGS HAPPENED LIKE HER HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION WAS FILED. UH, SHE GOT A ROOF REPAIR AND SHE WAS EVEN SET UP ON GROCERY DELIVERY SERVICE. UM, BUT AS FAR AS NOTIFICATION THAT CAN ALL HAPPEN THROUGH A LEASE THAT THE CITY GETS WHEN THE TENANT TURNS ON THEIR, AND THAT IS HOW YOU CONTACT THE LANDLORD. IF THERE'S ANY KIND OF ISSUE WITH YOUR RENT HOUSE AND THE, THE, THE NOTICES ARE SENT BOTH TO THE LANDLORD AND TO THE TENANT. WHEN WE BOUGHT THE LAND ORIGINALLY, THE, THE NORTHERN 10 ACRES WERE ALREADY ZONED APARTMENTS, AND THE REST WAS ZONED COMMERCIAL. UM, THIS, THE CITY CAME TO US SOME YEARS AFTER WE PURCHASED IT AND DOWNGRADED THE ZONING FROM APARTMENT TO TOWNHOMES. AND WHEN WE PUT IT UNDER CONTRACT TO BLOWS, WE OURSELVES RUSHED INTO THE CITY AND ZONED IT ALL COMMERCIAL SO THAT WE COULD AVOID ANY HICCUPS WITH LOWE'S AS TO WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE REZONED HOW'S CAN WE GET TO GET THROUGH THAT PROBLEM, ET CETERA, ET CETERA. YOU HAVE THE PHYSICAL ASPECTS HERE, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE A MANDATORY RENTERS OR NEIGHBOR ASSOCIATION, AS A WAY FOR YOUR RESIDENTS TO GOVERN THEMSELVES, COMMUNICATE WITH YOU AND FOR YOU TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM LIKE A RENTERS ASSOCIATION, UM, W WE WOULD, WE WOULD ENTERTAIN THAT. SO WE THINK THERE'S TREMENDOUS VALUE THAT CAN BE BROUGHT THERE AND REVENUE, AND YOU GUYS DON'T HAVE THE LIABILITY OF A PRIVATE STREET THAT'S ON THE COMMUNITY, UH, MANAGEMENT, UH, TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT. CERTAINLY IT'S OUR UNDERSTANDING THE FUNDS WILL BE UTILIZED TO BUY CHROMEBOOKS, THE SPECIFIC DEVICES BEING SENT HOME WITH THE SCHOOL CHILDREN TO BE ABLE TO DO A VIRTUAL THANK YOU SO CHROMEBOOKS TO INCREASE THE ABILITY OF OUR STUDENTS IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT TO, TO LEARN MORE. AND, UH, I APPLAUD THIS, UH, BECAUSE IN MY MIND, THIS IS A STEP TOWARD, UM, EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE. AND FOR THE RECORD, WHEN I RAN FOR OFFICE A YEAR AGO, IN 2019, I HAD MY PRIORITIES WERE PUBLIC SAFETY, STRONG NEIGHBORHOODS, HIGH QUALITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, PRESERVATION OF GREEN SPACE AND THE LAST, BUT NOT THE LEAST WAS EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE. AND, UM, I THINK [02:50:01] THIS, UM, WHAT HAPPENS, WHAT THE COUNCIL IS HAS ON, ON THE AGENDA TONIGHT IS FOR, TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE. I KNOW THE MAYOR HAS BEEN NOT FRONT AND, AND THAT'S ONE OF HIS TOP PRIORITIES IS TO DOING EVERYTHING HE CAN AS MERIT TO SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS. AND I THINK THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE CITY TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE, THEN TO COMMIT ITS RESOURCES, UH, AND TAKE A PROACTIVE STEP IN SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOLS. UH, I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT I DID SOME CHECKING THAT THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS A PLAN FOR EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE, ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE, A STRATEGIC PLAN, THEY HAVE SPECIFIC GOALS, SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES, UH, ACCOUNTABILITY MEASURES. UM, AND I JUST WANT TO PARTNER AND DO THE SAME THING AS THE MAYOR HAS ALREADY BEEN UP FRONT TO DO EVERYTHING THAT'S WITHIN MY POWER TO, UH, ENCOURAGE AND, UM, TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS. I WOULD ENCOURAGE EVERY COMMUNITY LEADER, UH, COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS, EVERY BUSINESS PERSON, EVERY THE FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS, NEIGHBORHOOD, EVERYBODY IN TOWN TO GET BEHIND AND SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
