NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA IS UPDATE ON THE CD CEDAR HILL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FARMERS MARKET 2025.SO BASED ON YOUR GOALS IN STRATEGIC VISITING FOR HISTORIC DOWNTOWN CEDAR HILL, YOU GUYS CHARGE US WITH ACTIVATING DOWNTOWN.
WE HOSTED OUR MOTOWN STREET DANCE MUSIC IN THE PARK, ZUMBA IN THE PARK, AND ALSO LAUNCHED OUR FACADE GRANT PROGRAM AND ALSO HOSTED MEETINGS WITH OUR DOWNTOWN MERCHANTS.
WE ALSO PARTNERED WITH THE CEDAR HILL CHAMBER TO HELP AMPLIFY THEIR FARMER'S MARKET TO SIMPL, I'M SORRY, TO AMPLIFY THEIR FARMER'S MARKET BY ASSISTING WITH LOGISTICS, STREET CLOSURES, MARKETING AND OVERALL TEAM SUPPORT.
AT THE HEART OF IT ALL, WE'RE ALL ABOUT PEOPLE AND RELATIONSHIPS.
AND VANESSA HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY PARTNER.

UM, I ALWAYS ENJOY COMING AND PRESENTING TO YOU WHAT GOOD WE ARE DOING IN THE COMMUNITY.
AND SO THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PROJECTS, AS YOU CAN SEE ON THE PICTURE, THAT IS ME WITH MY FAMILY ON OUR OPENING DAY.
UM, SO I THOUGHT I'D THROW THAT IN THERE, UM, BECAUSE IT REALLY IS A COMMUNITY THAT, THAT I'VE BROUGHT INTO MY WORLD AS WELL, BEING HERE IN CEDAR HILL.
FIRST AND FOREMOST, WELL, LEMME SEE IF I CAN DO THIS.
UM, I WANTED TO START OFF WITH SOME THANK YOUS.
WE COULD NOT DO THIS ALONE AT ALL.
UM, WE ARE A TEAM AT THE CHAMBER.

UM, SHE STAYED IN COMMUNICATION WITH US, WITH THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES, WITH ALL OF THE CITY DEPARTMENTS THAT, UM, NEEDED UPDATES AND, AND IT WAS A CONSTANT COMMUNICATION AND IT REALLY HELPED US RUN THINGS VERY SMOOTHLY.

UH, THE TEAM IN ITSELF WAS JUST, UH, OVERWHELMING, OVERWHELMING SENSE OF COMMUNITY.
WE HAD A COUPLE OF REPEATS THAT THEY KNEW WHAT TO DO, WHEN TO COME IN, UM, WITHOUT, WITHOUT MUCH INSTRUCTION BECAUSE THEY HAD BEEN THERE BEFORE AND THEY WERE WILLING TO HELP.
SO, BIG, BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE PARKS AND REC DEPARTMENT.
UM, THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM, THE PROMOTION FOR THE MARKET THIS YEAR DEFINITELY AMPLIFIED THE MARKET IN MORE THAN ONE WAY.
UM, AND SO WE ARE SUPER EXCITED AND THANK, UM, SOPHIA AND HER TEAM.
UM, I SAW MANY OF THEM AT THE MARKETS AND, AND WE WERE ABLE TO CAPTURE FOOTAGE, BUT WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO MARKET THAT TO THE CITIZENS OF CEDAR HILL.
AND THEN OF COURSE, YOU AS CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS, UH, FOR YOUR CONTINUED PRESENCE AND ENGAGEMENT AT THE MARKET, UM, EVERY TIME.
I KNOW A FEW OF YOU HAD YOUR FAVORITE VENDORS AND, AND THEY WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO, TO SEEING YOU.
SO A BIG THANK YOU, UH, FOR YOUR ENGAGEMENT IN THE MARKET AS WELL.
OKAY, SO OPENING DAY, WE SAW 2,500 VISITORS DOWNTOWN.
UM, THAT WAS AN INCREASE OF 53% FROM THE 2024 ENDING SEASON.
UM, AND SO WE ATTRIBUTE THAT TO A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT THINGS.
UM, BUT THAT NUMBER TO US, UM, SAYS A LOT.
AND SO I KIND OF WANTED TO DIVE INTO WHAT THOSE FACTORS WERE THAT MIGHT HAVE HELPED AMPLIFY, UM, THE MARKET THIS YEAR.
SO OUR LOCATION CHANGE, OUR LOCATION TO THE DOWNTOWN AREA IN BETWEEN BABES AND THE BARBERSHOP DEFINITELY CHANGED OUR TRAJECTORY WITH VISIBILITY.
AND SO WE WERE SUPER EXCITED THAT, UH, BETWEEN THE SIGNAGE THAT IS PUT OUT BY JUSTIN EVERY WEEK, THE SIGNAGE THAT THE CITY HELPED US WITH THIS YEAR, UM, GETTING OUT DURING THE FARMER'S MARKET WEEK ON TOP OF THE PROMOTION FROM THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM.
SO I THINK THAT THAT DEFINITELY HELPED WITH THE FOOT TRAFFIC DOWNTOWN.
UM, AND SO THIS WAS JUST OUR OPENING DAY NUMBERS, AND SO WE'RE, WE'RE REALLY EXCITED TO SEE THAT INCREASE OVER THIS PERIOD OF TIME.

THIS IS A SNAPSHOT OF THE THREE YEARS.UM, AND SO IN 2023, WE HAD AN AVERAGE OF ABOUT 25 VENDORS PER MARKET WITH ABOUT 300 VISITORS PER MARKET.
UM, IN 2024, WE SAW THAT GROW.
WHEN I CAME ON, WE HAD AN AVERAGE ABOUT 45 VENDORS, UH, PER MARKET WITH A TOTAL OF AROUND 700 VISITS PER MARKET.
UM, AND THEN IN 2025, WE EXCEEDED OUR WAITING LIST AND WE HAD OVER 75 VENDORS, UM, WITH OVER A HUNDRED APPLICATIONS PUT IN, UH, FOR THIS YEAR IN 2025.
AND WE SAW AN AVERAGE OF 1500, UM, VISITS PER MARKET.
AND THAT IS JUST DRIVING, UH, FOOT TRAFFIC DOWNTOWN.
UM, IT POSITIVELY IMPACTS OUR RESTAURANTS, OUR, OUR RETAILERS, OUR BUSINESSES, UM, 10 OF THOSE BOOTHS ARE DESIGNATED YOUTH BOOTHS, SO ANYBODY UNDER THE AGE OF 12 WAS ABLE TO SIGN UP WITH US AND GET THOSE BOOTHS SPONSORED AND START THEIR BUSINESSES YOUNG AS OUR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS PROGRAM.
SO WE ARE SUPER EXCITED THAT THAT, UH, PROGRAM HAS CONTINUED TO GROW.
WE HAD TO CAP THAT, AND SO WE'RE HOPING THAT WITH THE GROWTH, WE'LL BE ABLE TO GROW THOSE NUMBERS AS WELL.
UM, WE REALLY WANTED TO FOCUS ON THE DIVERSITY OF OUR VENDORS.
UM, AND SO WE HAD A CAP ON HOW MANY PER, UH, PRODUCT FOR EACH, UH, FOR EACH MARKET.
SO THAT WAY WE WOULD HAVE, UM, A, A GOOD GROWTH, BUT ALSO IT WOULDN'T BE REPEAT VENDORS.
SO WE'RE SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT.
AND OUR WAIT LIST HAS ACTUALLY CONTINUED ON INTO 2026.
SO WE HAVE NOT STARTED, UM, ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS, BUT WE HAVE THEM ON FILE TO GET READY FOR OUR 2026 YEAR ALREADY.
SO
UM, MY FAVORITE PART, IF YOU'VE HEARD ME PRESENT AT ALL ANYWHERE, UM, IS OUR COLLABORATIONS.
SO FOR OUR OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ASPECT OF THE CHAMBER, UM, I'M BIG ABOUT COLLABORATION AND WE PARTNERED WITH A FEW OF OUR LOCAL NONPROFITS, A FEW OF OUR LOCAL, UH, MISSION DRIVEN ORGANIZATIONS.
I OPENED IT UP TO BE ABLE TO HAVE A BOOTH AT EACH ONE OF OUR MARKETS FOR EACH NONPROFIT FOR FREE OF CHARGE.
UM, MANY OF THEM PROMOTED THEIR EVENTS THAT WAY.
THEY PROMOTED THEIR CAUSES THAT WAY.
HERE'S JUST A LIST OF A FEW OF THEM THAT WE WERE ABLE TO PARTNER WITH.
THE DESTINATION ADVISORY BOARD HAD JOIN, UH, JOINED US FOR OUR OPENING DAY.
UH, YOU'LL SEE A PICTURE UP THERE WITH CEDAR HILL, ISD STUDENTS WHO VOLUNTEERED, UM, AS WELL AS METHODIST, WHO IS A PARTNER WITH US AND A SPONSOR.
THEY HAD THEIR WHOLE CARDIOLOGY DEPARTMENT COME OUT.
UM, EVERY SINGLE MARKET WAS MET WITH A METHODIST BOOTH.
SO TO HAVE METHODIST CHARLTON AT EVERY SINGLE MARKET, UM, SUPPORTING US, BUT ALSO GETTING THE WORD OUT ABOUT THEM, IT JUST SHOWED TO BE A GREAT PARTNERSHIP.
AND THEN A COUPLE OF OUR OTHER, UM, NONPROFITS, AMERICAN LEGION, AGAPE, SAFE HAVEN, AND THEN OF COURSE VOLUNTEERS FROM BUSINESSES AND CHAMBER MEMBERS LIKE AMBER REALTY AND FROST BANK.
UM, THE MARKET IS MORE THAN COMMERCE.
UM, AND SO WE ARE DEFINITELY EXCITED THAT WE HAD OVER 50 PLUS VOLUNTEERS OVER THE ENTIRE SEASON.
SO THAT WAS, THAT'S A GOOD NUMBER GROWING WHEN THERE'S A TEAM OF TWO OF US,
AND THEN, UM, OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS, THIS IS OUR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR BEING ABLE TO, UH, ACCEPT SNAP BENEFITS.
AND SO THAT'S SUPPORTING FOOD ACCESS, EXPANDING ACCESS TO FRESH AND LOCAL PRODUCE FOR ALL CITIZENS.
UM, SO FOR OUR FIRST YEAR WE STARTED ACCEPTING SNAP LAST YEAR AND TRY TO GROW THAT PROMOTION.
THAT'S ONE THING THAT IF, IF WE HAVE A NEEDS BOX IS REALLY SPREAD THE WORD TO ALL OF OUR CITIZENS THAT WE ACCEPT SNAP.
UM, AND THEN IN OUR SECOND YEAR AT THE END IN, UH, AT THE END OF OUR MARKET, WE WERE ABLE TO GET CERTIFIED FOR OUR WIC FARMERS MARKET, NEW NUTRITION PROGRAMS AS WELL TO ACCEPT WIC.
AND OUR THIRD YEAR, WE'RE HOPING TO BECOME A VOUCHER CENTER AS WELL.
BUT THAT IS JUST, UH, SUPPORTING, UH, FOOD ACCESS ACROSS THE BOARD AND WE'RE REALLY PROUD OF, OF BEING ABLE TO DO THAT HERE AT OUR SMALL LOCAL MARKET FOR SURE.

UH, HE'S REALLY MADE IT A FAMILY, UH, BUSINESS THAT IS HIM AND HIS DAUGHTER, THAT IF YOU'VE COME TO ANY OF OUR MARKETS, YOU SEE THE BIG PRODUCE, UH, VAN THAT IS, UM, HIS UNDERTAKING.
AND, UH, WE HAVE A FEW, UM, GREAT PICTURES OF OF THEM TOGETHER.

UM, LOOKING AHEAD, WE'RE LOOKING TO EXPAND OUR COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING, AS MICHELLE WAS SAYING, WITH THE, UM,

WE DID A NUTRITION DEMO AT THE VERY BEGINNING.
UM, AND SO WE'RE LOOKING TO CONTINUE THAT PROGRAMMING.
UH, WE WANNA INCREASE OUR VENDOR CAPACITY.
AS YOU SAW, OUR NUMBERS ARE INCREASING.
UM, WE ARE EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE AND WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT OUR SMALL LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS FOR SURE.
UM, WE HAVE A REGIONAL, UH, POOL THIS TIME NOW TOO.
UM, AND SO THAT'S EXCITING TO SEE THAT THEY'RE COMING FROM A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT AREAS IN THE, IN THE BEST SOUTHWEST REGION.
UM, WE ALSO WANNA DEEPEN OUR DATA TRACKING ON OUR ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL IMPACT.
SO, UM, WE RECEIVED SOME NUMBERS FROM PLACER THAT SHOWED THE DATA, WHICH IS WHAT WE'RE SEEING WITH THESE VISITS DOWNTOWN, AND WE'RE WANTING TO DO A DEEPER DIVE ON, ON THAT INFORMATION SO THAT WAY WE CAN PLAN AND, AND REALLY COORDINATE HOW THE MARKET IS GROWING AND WHERE WE'RE GONNA GO FOR FROM HERE.
UM, SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THE DATA.

SO IT, IT'S, IT'S HONESTLY BETTER FOR THEM TO SIGN US, SIGN UP FOR US FOR THE SEASON.
UM, AND THEN THERE'S A DISCOUNTED RATE FOR CHAMBER MEMBERS AS WELL.
