HOW ARE YOU DOING MR. I'M DOING VERY WELL MAYOR, UH, GOOD EVENING MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL.

IT'S GREAT TO SEE YOU TONIGHT.

UM, JUST WANT TO BEGIN WITH A NOTE OF CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF THE CHIEF CHARLES RAY SIMS, WHO PASSED AWAY LAST SATURDAY AT A VERY SPRY 96, ALMOST 97 YEARS OLD, UH, AND AN EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE TO HIS FAMILY FOR ALL OF THE SERVICE THAT HE AND THE FAMILY HAVE GIVEN THIS COMMUNITY OVER THE LAST, I DON'T KNOW, 60 OR 70 YEARS, UH, SO ON THE CALENDAR OR IS INFORMATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE SERVICES FOR HIM.

AND, UH, WE, UH, OFFER OUR SUPPORT TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AS WELL.

WHO'S, WHO'S LOST A GIFTED AND VISIONARY LEADERS HELPED US GET TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY.

UH, FROM THE DAYS WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ENTIRELY VOLUNTEER IN THE COMMUNITY AND THE CITY WAS WASN'T MUCH SMALLER.

UM, ALSO ON ANOTHER NOTE, UH, AN EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE AND THANKS FOR EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THE NEIGHBORHOOD WALKS AND SATURDAY, THIS IS WHERE YOU'RE REALLY PUTTING A COMMITMENT TO NEIGHBORHOOD ENGAGEMENT.

WHEN YOU GO IN, YOU WALK THE STREETS WHEN IT'S ONLY ABOUT 104 DEGREES.

AND SO THANK YOU FOR THAT.

THE TURNOUT WAS GREAT.

A KINGSWOOD IS A NEWER NEIGHBORHOOD.

WE HAVEN'T DONE IT BEFORE THERE, AND IT SEEMED LIKE EVERYBODY HAD A REALLY GOOD TIME AND THE ENGAGEMENT WAS REALLY GOOD.

SHE SAID IT WAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST RATES OF PEOPLE BEING HOME AND BEING ABLE TO COME TO THE DOOR AND WANTING TO ENGAGE OF WHAT WE'VE DONE.

SO THAT WAS, THAT WAS GREAT.

WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR ATTENDANCE AND THE WORK OF OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE PAC TEAM, AND THEN ALL OF THE, UH, THE VOLUNTEERS AND THE STAFF WHO ATTENDED ON THAT DAY.

AND THEN ANOTHER NOTE OF CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLKS IN OUR FIRE FAMILY FOR, UH, THEIR PINNING CEREMONY THAT THEY HAD HERE IN THIS CHAMBER ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON, UH, GETTING BACK TO A STANDING TRADITION OF, UH, PUBLICLY CELEBRATING WITH THE FAMILIES, THE SERVICE OF FOLKS WHO ARE CALLED OR ARE PROMOTED INTO THE FIRE SERVICE HERE IN CEDAR HILL.

AND SO APPRECIATE THE COUNCIL WHO ABLE TO, TO SUPPORT AND TO WELCOME THE FAMILIES TO THEIR SERVICE, STEWARDING OUR COMMUNITY.

UH, OBVIOUSLY THE COUNCIL IS WORKING HARD THIS WEEKEND AND THIS WEEK WE'VE GOT THREE MEETINGS IN A ROW.

UH, THIS ONE BEING THE FIRST OF THREE, THIS, UM, UH, THE NEXT ONE IS TOMORROW AT 6:00 PM.

WE BEGAN THE PROCESS OF INTERVIEWING MAKING BOARD SELECTIONS FOR THE YEAR 20 22, 20 23.

UH, SO THAT'LL TAKE PLACE, UM, AT 6:00 PM AND, UH, GO THROUGH THROUGH THE EVENING, UH, ON THURSDAY, UH, THAT WE WILL BE MEETING AGAIN AT 6:00 PM, UH, TO RESUME, UH, THE INTERVIEWS OF, UH, POTENTIAL OF APPLICANTS.

AND THEN ALSO TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD.

UH, THE VISITATION FOR A CHIEF SIMS IS ALSO ON THURSDAY FROM FIVE TO SEVEN.

UH, WE HAVE A REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON TUESDAY, JULY THE 12TH, UM, ANOTHER, UH, FUN DAY EVENT AT CRAWFORD PARK ON SUNDAY, JULY THE 17TH, AND THEN ON THURSDAY, JULY THE 21ST AT 6:00 PM IS THE, UM, NEXT, UH, IN WBE AND LOCAL BUSINESS WORKSHOP THAT, UH, WE'VE BEEN HOSTING AND MOVING AROUND THE BEST SOUTHWEST AREA WITH OUR PARTNER CITIES.

THIS ONE WILL BE HELD, UH, IN DUNCANVILLE AT THE CITY OF DUNCANVILLE COUNCIL CHAMBERS AT 2 0 3 EAST WHEATLAND.

AND AGAIN, THAT BEGINS AT 6:00 PM ON THURSDAY, JULY THE 21ST, ALSO THE CITY SECRETARY'S OFFICE HAS SCHEDULED THAT DAY FOR NEW BOARD MEMBER ORIENTATION.

SO AFTER THE APPOINTMENTS OF THIS YEAR'S, UH, NEWLY APPOINTED BOARD MEMBERS, UH, THE CITY SECRETARY WILL BE TAKING THEM THROUGH OUR UPDATED ORIENTATION PROCESS THAT THEY'VE BEEN PUTTING IN PLACE OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS.

AND SO WE'LL HAVE THAT ON YOUR CALENDAR AS AN FYI, JUST SO YOU KNOW, WE'RE STARTING THEM TO WORK PRETTY QUICKLY.

THE FIRST ONE IS CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AND A PUBLIC HEARING ASSOCIATED WITH A PERMIT FOR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE SALES AND ASSOCIATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH A RESTAURANT AT HILLSIDE VILLAGE, THAT'S FOLLOWED BY A PSYCHIC CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT AND PUBLIC HEARING ASSOCIATED WITH A SECOND PER, UM, ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE SELLS PERMIT WITH A RESTAURANT ALSO AT HILLSIDE VILLAGE.

SO A COUPLE OF NEW RESTAURANTS HEADING OUR WAY, UH, TO HILLSIDE VILLAGE.

AND THEN ALSO WE HAVE A PUBLIC CARING, CONSIDERATE APPLICATION FOR A PLAN DEVELOPMENT SITE PLAN, UH, FOR DEVELOPMENT CALLED JUNIPER CREEK, WHICH IS, UH, NEAR 1400, UH, J ELMER WEAVER FREEWAY.

AND WE'RE IN A GREEN ROAD.

UM, ITEM C IS THE CONSIDERATION OF THE PLANNING ZONING COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATION FOR FINAL PLAT FOR THE TERRACES ADDITION.

THIS IS A SINGLE FAMILY DEVELOPMENT ON NORTH CEDAR HILL ROAD.

UH, ITEM D IS TO CONSIDER A FINAL PLAT FOR STONEHILL ADDITION PHASE TWO.

NUMBER ONE, WHICH IS THE HIGH POINT PID, UM, ALSO A CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION APPROVING A, UH, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROJECT FOR, UM, THE 20, 23 YEAR.

AND THE ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THAT.

ALSO RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT FOR MOTOR VEHICLE CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAM FOR THE LEASE OF AUTOMATIC LICENSE PLATE READERS.

AND THEN THE CONSIDERATION OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS 2021 AND REPORT, WHICH WILL BE THE SUBJECT OF THE PRESENTATION YOU WILL HAVE RECEIVED EARLIER.

THIS IS THE ABANDONMENT OF ANDERSON ROAD TO BE ABLE TO THEN RE FACILITATE THE ALIGNMENT OF THE ROAD THAT WILL SERVE, UH, THE ANDERSON HILL DEVELOPMENT AND ALLOWS FOR UTILITIES TO APPROPRIATELY, APPROPRIATELY BE PLACED TO SERVE THAT SUBDIVISION.

FINAL ITEM OF THE NIGHT IS A RESOLUTION, UM, UH, PROVIDING AN UPDATE FOR THE CITY'S LAND, USE ASSUMPTIONS AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN.

THE CITY COUNCIL APPOINTED A CITIZEN DESIGN COMMITTEE TO SEEK BROAD PUBLIC INPUT ON THE LIBRARY'S DESIGN AND NEW LOCATION ALONG PIONEER TRAIL.

THE NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART LIBRARY WILL BE 42,000 SQUARE FEET FEATURING COMMUNITY AND EVENT SPACE, INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY AND PROGRAM AREAS.

FOR ALL AGES.

IT WILL BE INTEGRATED WITH A NEW SIGNATURE PARK AND TRAIL BRINGING THE OUTSIDE IN AND CONTINUING THE CITY OF CEDAR HILLS VISION AS A CITY AND A PARK.

THE LIBRARY AND PARK WILL BE VIBRANT, INCLUSIVE, AND WELCOMING A COMMUNITY PLACE WHERE OPPORTUNITIES GROW NATURALLY.

THE BUILDING MATERIALS AND DESIGN ELEMENTS WERE CHOSEN TO HIGHLIGHT THE LIBRARY'S LOCATION IN THE PARK AND REFLECT THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF CEDAR HILL WITH WOOD
