HOW ARE YOU DOING MS. CITY MANAGER? WELL, MAYOR AND, UH, GOOD EVENING AND HAPPY SPRING TO A MAYOR CITY COUNCIL THIS TIME LAST MONTH, I BELIEVE WE WERE ALL HUDDLING UP, UH, FOR, UH, UH, ZERO TEMPERATURES AND SNOW AND ICE AND ALL KINDS OF, UH, POWER OUTAGES AND CRAZINESS.

AND THEN NOW JUST, UH, JUST A FEW, COUPLE OF WEEKS AWAY FROM THAT.

IT'S A NICE AND IN THE SEVENTIES AND, UH, PRETTY BLUE SKIES.

SO IT'S, UH, IT'S A PLEASURE TO SEE SPRING COME AND, UM, IT GIVES US A LOT TO BE LOOKING FORWARD TO IS WE, UH, RESUMED THE BULK OF 2021, UH, AHEAD OF US.

I'D LIKE TO EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION TO THE MAYOR AND THE COUNCIL.

UH, ALISON MARIE, MARIE WATSON, THE STAFF FOR, UH, HANDLING THINGS LAST WEEK IN, UH, IN OUR ABSENCE.

WE, UH, HAD SOME TIME WITH THE FAMILY FOR SPRING BREAK.

SO I'M GRATEFUL FOR THE TEAM THAT YOU GUYS HAVE HELPED ASSEMBLE HERE.

UM, TONIGHT'S AGENDA IS, UH, SMALL, BUT MIGHTY, THERE ARE A NUMBER OF BIG, BIG TICKET PROJECTS, UH, MAJOR COUNCIL PRIORITIES THAT ARE TAKING MAJOR STEPS FORWARD, UM, ON THEIR JOURNEY TO COMING TO FRUITION.

BEFORE WE DO THAT, UH, WE'LL GO OVER THE CALENDAR VERY BRIEFLY ON, UM, THURSDAY THIS WEEK, MARCH 25TH AT 9:00 AM THE FOLKS AT THE BEST SOUTHWEST, UH, PARTNERSHIP, UH, WILL BE HOSTING THEIR ANNUAL RED SUMMIT.

THAT IS THE, UH, ALL THINGS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE, UH, SOUTHWEST DALLAS COUNTY AREA.

UH, IT WILL BE A VIRTUAL EVENT THIS YEAR.

UH, WE DO HAVE A HOST OF BOARD AND COMMISSION MEETINGS WHO ARE CONTINUING, UH, THEIR DUTIES FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH AND INTO APRIL, INCLUDING THE ZULU B WILEY LIBRARY BOARD, WHICH IS MEETING ON THE 25TH, UH, AS WELL AS THE TOURISM ADVISORY BOARD APRIL 1ST, UH, IS THE NEXT MAYOR'S PRAYER BREAKFAST AT SEVEN 30.

THAT ALSO IS A VIRTUAL AFFAIR.

UH, AND THE LINKS FOR THAT, UM, UH, BREAKFAST IS ALSO INCLUDED IN YOUR CALENDAR INFORMATION.

UH, THEY WILL ACTUALLY BE PUTTING NOTICES OUT BEGINNING SUNDAY, MARCH 28TH.

THEY WILL BEGIN ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR BOARD AND COMMISSION, A SERVICE FROM APRIL 1ST THROUGH MAY 7TH.

UM, AND THEN THEY WILL, UM, WE'VE SCHEDULED

IF IT'S NEEDED FOR THE COUNCIL TO CONSIDER, UH, INTERVIEW TO DO INTERVIEWS AND TO CONSIDER APPOINTMENTS TO VACANCIES ON, UH, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR THE NEXT YEAR, WE WILL ALSO INCLUDE THOSE DATES ON YOUR CALENDAR, ANY QUESTIONS ON THE CALENDAR SO FAR? ALL RIGHT.

AND THEN WE'LL MOVE RIGHT ALONG TO THE ORIENTATION FOR TONIGHT'S AGENDA.

AS I MENTIONED, THERE ARE A NUMBER OF, UM, MAJOR, UH, PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES THAT ARE TAKING STEPS FOR TODAY.

TONIGHT, THE COUNCIL WILL RECEIVE BRIEFINGS ON THREE OF THE MARQUEE PROJECTS FROM THE 2017 BOND, UM, THE LIBRARY AND THE UPDATE ON THE DESIGN PROCESS FOR THE LIBRARY AND SIGNATURE PARK, AS WELL AS THE OUTDOOR COMMUNITY POOL.

SO WE RECEIVE RE BREAK REESE, UH, BASICALLY THREE BRIEFINGS, THREE BRIEFINGS IN ONE, UM, MOVING ON TO THE REGULAR AGENDA FOR TONIGHT, UH, INVOCATION WILL BE DONE BY OUR OWN PASTOR OF THAT JACKSON FROM BUILDING THE KINGDOM COMMUNITY CHURCH.

UH, WE HAVE A NUMBER OF REALLY IMPORTANT TO SEE TWO CHARACTER PRESENTATIONS.

I JOKED A LITTLE BIT ABOUT, UH, IT BEING NICE AND SPRINGY NOW, BUT A MONTH AGO WE WERE ALL BASICALLY, UH, IN A PITCHED BATTLE WITH, UH, WITH MOTHER NATURE, UH, SEEING THE, SOME OF THE WORST THAT WEATHER CAN DO.

AND I THINK IT'S AT TIMES LIKE THAT, WHERE THE DISTINCTIVE CHARACTER OF THIS COMMUNITY REALLY SHOWS ITSELF.

SO, UH, TONIGHT WE HAVE A COUPLE OF GOOD SAMARITAN WARDS, ONE TO FRANK SERRATA AND YOU'LL END UP HAUNTS AND THEN ANOTHER ONE TO FRANCESCA LAREDO.

UM, AND THEN A THIRD PRESENTATION, IT'S SORT OF AN OMNIBUS GOOD SAMARITAN AWARD TO A HOST OF COMMUNITY PARTNERS, UH, WHO HELPED SUPPORT THEIR NEIGHBORS AND OUR CITY STAFF AND THIS COMMUNITY, UH, THROUGH THAT REALLY LONG WEEK OF WINTER WEATHER.

UM, THERE WILL BE MANY STORIES THAT COME OUT OF THAT EXPERIENCE OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS, AND THIS WILL BE SORT OF THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO SOME OF THE REALLY COOL THINGS THAT WERE TAKING PLACE AT THE NEIGHBORHOOD LEVEL AND AT THE COMMUNITY LEVEL.

AND I'M LOOKING FORWARD, UM, AS I'M SURE YOU ARE TOO, THAT PRESENTATION AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO CELEBRATE, UH, HOW THIS COMMUNITY RESPONDS AND TAKES CARE OF ITS OWN.

WE DO HAVE THREE FORMAL PRESENTATIONS TONIGHT AND PROCLAMATIONS, INCLUDING, UH, THE DESIGNATION OF MARCH AS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH AND APRIL 4TH THROUGH 10TH IS NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK.

AND THEN FINALLY A PROCLAMATION FOR APRIL 11TH THROUGH 17TH, UH, TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY, TO COME OUT TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK AND CEDAR HILL BASICALLY GO AND HUG YOUR NINE ONE ONE OPERATOR BECAUSE THEY, THEY DO GREAT SERVICES TO US IN OUR TIME OF GREATEST NEED.

UH, THE CONSENT AGENDA TONIGHT INCLUDES A MINUTES AS WELL AS A, UH, AN AGREEMENT WITH LITTLE TOP SECURITIES TO CONDUCT OUR, UM, ARBITRAGE OR REQUIRED ARBITRAGE STUDIES, UH, FOR THIS FISCAL YEAR.

UM, ALSO A RESOLUTION CONTINUING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PRETREATMENT PROGRAM, UH, PRESCRIBED BY THE TRINITY RIVER AUTHORITY, UH, FOR THE 10 MILE CREEK REGIONAL WASTEWATER SYSTEM.

AS YOU KNOW, WE PARTICIPATE WITH SEVERAL CITIES IN THE SINGLE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT THAT PLANT IS REQUIRED TO, UM, UH, ENFORCE RULES RELATED TO CERTAIN TYPES OF, UH, OUTFLOWS INTO THAT SYSTEM.

SOME OF THOSE OUTFLOWS ARE REQUIRED TO BE PRETREATED AND THE CITY IS ALSO PART OF THE PROCESS OF ENSURING THAT THAT TAKES PLACE, UM, UH, ON THE REGULAR AGENDA.

UH, TONIGHT WE HAVE A COUPLE OF ITEMS, ONE TO CONSIDER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR NORTH JOE WILSON PROJECT AT 67.

THIS IS VERY MUCH A CITY COUNCIL DRIVEN PRIORITY.

UH, GOING BACK A COUPLE OF YEARS, THIS HAS BEEN DONE IN SEVERAL PHASES.

ONE IMPROVEMENT TO THAT AREA WAS THE INTERSECTION DONE BY THE HIGHWAY 67 IMPROVEMENTS.

THE SECOND ONE WERE FACILITIES TO WIDEN THAT PART OF JOE WILSON, UM, CLOSE TO WHERE THE FUEL CITY IS.

AND THEN THIS THIRD ONE WILL BE A MUCH BROADER WIDENING ALL THE WAY BACK TO BE ABLE TO FACILITATE SAFE INGRESS AND EGRESS, UH, TO PEOPLE IN THE SHADY BRICK SUBDIVISION, AS WELL AS, UH, BE ABLE TO IMPROVE COMMERCIAL TRAFFIC AND OVERALL CIRCULATION AND SAFETY IN THAT AREA.

SO I'M VERY EXCITED TO SEE THIS ONE COME ON THE AGENDA.

I, UH, I WANT TO EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION TO TOM JOHNSON AND HIS ENGINEERING TEAM FOR STAYING ON THIS ONE AND HAVING IT IN POSITION TO GET IT KICKED OFF IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.

AND THEN FINALLY, UH, THE LAST ITEM ON THE REGULAR AGENDA TONIGHT IS TO CONDUCT A SECOND READING AND CONSIDER ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE THAT RENEWS THE FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH ENCORE ELECTRIC DELIVERY SERVICES, UH, FOR ANOTHER 20 YEAR TERM, UM, AS THE ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION PROVIDER FOR OUR CITY.

UM, AS FAR AS WHERE WE ARE WITH THE PROJECT, YOU ALL APPROVED KINEMATIC OR A CONCEPT DESIGN, WHERE I, BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS AND AUTHORIZED CITY STAFF TO GO INTO SCHEMATIC DESIGN, THEN WE'RE ABOUT 85 TO 90% COMPLETE ON SCHEMATIC DESIGN.

AND ONCE WE HAVE THAT DONE, WE WILL GET A FINAL, LIKE A COST ESTIMATE FOR THE PROJECT.

ONCE WE GET THAT, WE'LL GO INTO DESIGN, FURTHER DESIGN DEVELOPMENT, AND THEN CONSTRUCTION DOCS, WHICH WOULD BE HOPEFULLY BY THE END OF THIS YEAR.

AND WE WILL KICK OFF A GROUNDBREAKING BY THE BEGINNING, THE BEGINNING QUARTER, FIRST QUARTER OF 2022.

SO THAT'S KIND OF WHERE WE ARE.

UM, AND YOU KNOW, THIS, UM, IT'S A $45 MILLION BOND REFERENDUM OF WHICH THE LIBRARY AND THE PARK PROJECT IS 25 MILLION.

SO IT IS YOUR IT'S YOUR CADILLAC PROJECT FOR THE BOND, THE REFERENDUM.

AND WE'RE VERY PLEASED TO STEWARD THE PROJECT.

OF COURSE, WE ALWAYS START WITH YOUR VISION AND YOUR MISSION, AND REALLY THIS PROJECT RETAINS ALL OF THE DISTINCTIVE CHARACTER OF WHAT CEDAR HILL EXUDES, PREMIER CITY SAFE AND CLEAN ENVIRONMENT.

AND THIS IS A COMMUNITY PROJECT OF WHICH ALL DEPARTMENTS ARE INVOLVED IN BECAUSE IT IS AN ALL DEPARTMENT HANDS ON DECK, PROJECT, POLICE, FIRE, UM, FIRE MARSHALL'S OFFICE, UH, THE DEPARTMENT OF, UH, EXPERIENCE CEDAR HILL, UM, LIBRARY, PARKS, EVERYBODY PLANNING AND ZONING.

UM, PUBLIC WORKS, LITERALLY EVERYBODY.

I COULD JUST NAME THEM ALL.

EVERYBODY IS INVOLVED IN THIS PROJECT AND EVERYBODY'S BEEN FULLY UPDATED ON WHERE WE ARE, AND OF COURSE OUR MISSION TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF MUNICIPAL SERVICES.

THAT'S WHAT THIS PRO PROJECT WILL DO FOR YOU, UM, AND CONSISTENT WITH OUR, UH, COMMUNITY VALUES, BUT THERE'S NO BETTER REPRESENTATION OF WHAT THAT REPRESENTS OTHER THAN EACH OF Y'ALL'S BEAUTIFUL FACES.

UM, THE PICTURE IS, IS WHERE IT SAYS, UH, IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS.

AND WE RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR VISION FOR THIS PROJECT IS VERY PROFOUND AND YOU'VE SET THE BAR HIGH, AND WE APPRECIATE YOUR LEADERSHIP AND WHAT, UH, WHAT THIS PROJECT WILL STAND FOR FOR YOU AND YOUR LEADERSHIP, BUT ALSO THIS COMMUNITY.

SO AS WE PURSUE PREMIERE, ALL OF THESE THINGS WE COULD, IF I CIRCLED WHICH ONES WAS RELEVANT FOR THIS PROJECT, I'D BE CIRCLING ALL OF THEM.

SO WE DIDN'T CIRCLE ANY OF THEM.

UM, OF COURSE, DISTINCTIVE CHARACTER IS, UH, CLEARLY A PIECE OF THE ARCHITECTURE AND THE DESIGN, AND THE FACT THAT THE COMMUNITY DECIDED TO PUT THE LIBRARY IN THE PARK IS PART OF YOUR DISTINCTIVE CHARACTER OF PEOPLE CELEBRATING THE PEOPLE OF OUR COMMUNITY, BUT ALSO THE PLACE.

UM, SAFETY IS THE NUMBER ONE CONCERN.

WE HAVE, UM, SLATED TO PUT SOME LIGHTING AROUND THE CORE TRAIL, WHICH WOULD MAKE IT VERY SAFE FOR PEOPLE TO USE AT ANY TIME DURING THE DAY.

AND, UM, EARLY EVENING HOURS, UM, CLEAN, UM, YOU, UH, ASKED US TO BUILD A CLEAN BUILDING AND IT WILL BE BUILT TO LEAD, AND WE'LL HAVE A SORT OF, WE WILL HAVE YOUR FIRST LEAD CERTIFIED BUILDING IN THE CITY OF CEDAR HILL.

UM, OF COURSE THEY WILL ADD TO OUR VIBRANT PARKS AND OUR SYSTEM OF PARKS AND TRAILS AND WILL

CONNECT, UM, THE 1382 TRAIL ALL THE WAY TO THE EASTERN LIMITS, TO THE CITY OF DESOTO ON PLEASANT RUN, AND THEN TAKE THE TRAIL ALL THE WAY THROUGH, BY CEDAR HILL ROAD TO DOWNTOWN.

SO IT'S GOING TO SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACT YOUR TRAIL SYSTEM AND YOUR VIBRANT PARKS AND NATURAL BEAUTY.

OF COURSE, WE LOVE THAT THE COUNCIL ADDED THE CEDAR HILL HAS AN ENGAGED COMMUNITY BECAUSE THOSE PROJECT, UNLIKE ANY OTHER IS A REPRESENTATION OF THAT.

AND YOU WILL SEE THAT I BELIEVE IN OPENING DAY AND THROUGHOUT THE FIRST AND MANY DECADES OF THE USAGE OF THIS BUILDING, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THIS, THIS BUILDING WILL STAND FOR.

AND A LOT OF THE ARCHITECTURE IS INTENDED TO HELP WELCOME PEOPLE TO BE ENGAGED WITH CEDAR HILL AND US AS A CITY, UM, EXCELLENT, SAFE AND EFFICIENT INFRASTRUCTURE.

PUBLIC WORKS LIKE I SAID, AND FIRE MARSHALL, IT GOES FROM THE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING AND MAKING SURE THAT THIS, THIS PROJECT IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE.

AND THAT'S PART OF HAVING AN EXCELLENT, SAFE, AND EFFICIENT INFRASTRUCTURE.

UM, WE BELIEVE THAT THE LIBRARY PROJECT WILL CONTRIBUTE AND BE A CATALYST TO HELP THE ECONOMY AROUND IT.

AND BOOBOO WILL BE A CATALYST FOR VERY POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT THAT YOU DESIRE IN YOUR COMMUNITY, BUT ALSO, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE LIBRARY OF ALL PLACES WILL DEFINITELY HELP YOUR PREMIER STATEMENT OF, OF BUILDING A CITY THAT HAS TEXAS SCHOOLS OF CHOICE, WHICH WE WILL SUPPORT ALL INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT CHARTER SCHOOLS CA YOU KNOW, UM, PRIVATE SCHOOLS, HOMESCHOOLERS, ALL KINDS OF SCHOOLING OF ALL CHILDREN WILL ALL BE CELEBRATED IN THIS PROJECT.

SO WE'RE VERY PROUD OF THE FACT THAT IT IS ALL ENCOMPASSING OF YOUR VISION OF YOUR PREMIER AND HOW YOU'VE DEFINED IT.

UM, BUT ALSO EMBRACING OUR HISTORY OF CEDAR HILL FROM THE PAST AND THE CEDAR HILL OF THE FUTURE.

UM, BEING INNOVATIVE IN THE CEDAR HILL, THE FUTURE, THE CODE WE CALL IT, WE WANT TO CALL IT THE THIRD PLACE.

OUR DESIGN PHASES ARE SPLIT UP BETWEEN CONCEPT, WHICH WAS ACCOMPLISHED AND COMPLETED IN DECEMBER OF LAST YEAR, SCHEMATIC DESIGN DESIGN DEVELOPMENT, ALONG WITH CONSTRUCTION DOCS, CONSTRUCTION DOCS IS OUR LAST PHASE BECAUSE THEN WE'LL HAVE OUR BID SET THAT WE CAN BID OUT TO THE TWO THROUGH THE RFQ PROCESS SO THAT WE COULD SELECT THE BEST TEAM THAT CAN HELP US DELIVER THE WONDERFUL DESIGN THAT THE COMMUNITY HAS, UH, DEVELOPED.

AND THEN ALSO AVE EQUIPMENT UTILIZE THIS SPACE AS ONE ROOM ADJACENT TO THE LAST MULTIPURPOSE ROOM IS A KITCHEN AREA, A CATERING KITCHEN THAT WILL HAVE EXTERIOR DOOR SO THAT A CATERER COULD COME AND DELIVER THAT FOOD.

THIS IS, UM, SAME SPACE, JUST SITTING AT THE CAFE, LOOKING AT THE SOCIAL STAIRS, AND YOU'LL NOTICE, UM, UNDERNEATH THERE WE HAVE OUR ELEVATOR'S BANK.

WE DO HAVE AN ACOUSTIC CONSULTANT ON OUR LIBRARY DESIGN TEAM WHO WILL TAKE IN THESE TYPES OF FEEDBACK FROM US.

AND WE EXPLAIN THAT AS PEOPLE COME IN AND THEY'RE JUST GOING TO BE LOUD.

SO THEY ARE DESIGNING THE CEILING AND THINKING THROUGH THE ACOUSTICS, UM, BECAUSE OF THE NOISE THERE.

AND BECAUSE WE COULD ACTUALLY FORESEE HAVING HAVE ANY EVENTS IN THE CAFE AREA AND HAVING EVENTS IN THE MULTI-PURPOSE ROOMS. UM, AND THEN ALSO WE'VE REALLY FOCUSED ON OUR COMMUNITY AND WHAT THEY WANT IN, IN THIS PROJECT.

UM, AND GOING BACK IN AND WITH REESE, WITH OUR PREMIERE STATEMENTS, WE'VE ALSO, UM, TRIED TO ENCOMPASS, UM, A LOT OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN OUR, UM, IN OUR, UM, FACILITY.

AND THEN ALSO WE, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'VE REALLY TRIED TO FOCUS ON IS NOT JUST STICKING A POOL IN THE MIDDLE OF, UM, AT WEAVER AND, BUT MAKE IT FALL, FALL IN AND, UM, WORKING WITHIN THE FACILITY AND EVERYTHING AND THE LAYOUT AND THE NATURAL BEAUTY THAT CEDAR HILL IS KNOWN FOR.

UM, AND THEN JUST A BRIEF HISTORY, IF YOU RECALL, BACK IN 2017 IS WHEN THE BOND ISSUE WAS, UM, PASSED BY ALL THE CITIZENS WITH A LOT OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND WE HAVE 3.5 MILLION FOR THE NEW OUTDOOR POOL FOR, FOR US.

AND THEN IN 2018, IF YOU'LL RECALL, WE DID THE, UM, POOL STUDY THAT HELPED US PICK THE SITE FOR THE NEW OUTDOOR COMMUNITY POOL.

AND THEN IN 2019, WE DID A, UM, WE PICKED OUR DESIGN FIRM AND THEN ALSO A LOT OF OUR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT WAS HELD DURING THAT TIME FOR THE NEW OUTDOOR COMMUNITY POOL.

AND THEN IN 2020, WHERE TO WHERE WE ARE NOW IN DESIGN.

AND THEN ALSO IF YOU RECALL BACK IN MAY OF 2020, UM, YOU ALLOCATED ADDITIONAL 3.1 MILLION TOWARDS THE NEW OUTDOOR COMMUNITY POOL.

AND FOR THAT, WE'RE VERY THANKFUL.

AND WITH THAT, I'M GOING TO TURN IT OVER TO SHAWNA AND SHE'S GOING TO UPDATE YOU SOME MORE ON SOME OTHER ITEMS WITH IT.

SO PART OF THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT THAT WE DID, UM, THESE ARE THE TOP FIVE FEATURES AND THE TOP FIVE PROGRAMS THAT THE COMMUNITY TOLD US THAT THEY WOULD LIKE.

AND SO WE REALLY KEPT THIS IN MIND WHEN WE WERE IN DESIGN TO MAKE SURE THAT WE COULD TRY TO HIT ALL OF THESE, UM, FEATURES THAT THE WOULD LIKE.

SO WITH THAT, THE PROGRAM THAT WAS APPROVED BY COUNCIL, UM, WAS A $9,000 SQUARE FOOT SURFACE AREA, UM, FOR WATER AND THEN JUST UNDER A 6,000 SQUARE FOOT SURFACE AREA FOR OUR POOL HOUSE AND THE FILTER BUILDING COMBINED.

AND THAT WOULD BE ALL ENCOMPASSING FOR THIS PROJECT.

SO FOR THE BUDGET, THE COUNCIL APPROVED THE $6.6 MILLION AND THE LAST OPINION OF PROBABLE CAUSE THAT WE RECEIVED

PUT OUR BUDGET JUST AT 6.7 MILLION.

SO WE'RE RIGHT ON TARGET, UM, TO BE ABLE TO BE WITHIN BUDGET WITH THAT.

AND THIS DOES NOT THE 6.6 DOES NOT INCLUDE THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE GRANT THAT WE ALSO RECEIVED JUST TO GIVE YOU AN UPDATE ON THE SCHEDULE, UM, WHERE WE SUBMITTED OUR DRC SUBMITTAL ON THE 22ND ON MONDAY, AND THEN WE WILL BE COMING BACK TO YOU ALL WITH COUNCIL CONSIDERATION INSIDE APPROVAL.

WE'RE EXPECTING TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE IN JUNE, AND THEN IN THE SUMMER, WE EXPECT TO BE HAVING OUR GROUNDBREAKING WITH THE GRAND OPENING IN SUMMER OF 2020.

SO JUST TO KIND OF GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHAT OUR PROJECT LOOKS LIKE AT THIS POINT.

UM, I WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT, UM, OUR WE'VE KEPT WE'VE KEPT THE PREMIERE STATEMENTS ALL IN MIND WHEN WE WERE DESIGNING THIS.

AND ONE OF THOSE IS TO KEEP THE CEDAR HILL A SAFE.

AND SO WE MADE SURE THAT WE HAD A SAFE DROP-OFF AREA FOR KIDS TO BE ABLE TO BE DROPPED OFF OR PICKED UP AS THEY WERE COMING OR GOING TO THE POOL.

WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HIT THE TOP FIVE FUNCTIONS OF THE, UH, FEATURES OF THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.

AND THAT WAS THE WATER SLIDE, THE LAZY RIVER, THAT HIT NUMBER ONE AND INDOOR PARTY ROOM SHADE, AND THEN AN INTERACTIVE PLAY FEATURE AND A SPLASH PAD.

AND YOU CAN SEE THAT THIS PROJECT HAS ALL OF THOSE FEATURES INCLUDED IN IT.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE PROUD OF IS WE WERE ABLE TO WORK WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IN ORDER TO WORK OUT A PARKING AGREEMENT SO THAT WE COULD PUT ALL OF OUR MONEY TOWARDS POOL AMENITIES AND FEATURES AND NOT HAVE TO BUILD A PARKING LOT AND CONCRETE.

AND SO THAT'S ONE THING THAT WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT.

ALSO WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT THIS CONCESSION STAND WILL FEATURE WINDOWS THAT WILL BE ABLE TO SERVE THE POOL AS WELL AS THE PARK.

AND THEN ALSO WE HAD TO MAKE SOME ADJUSTMENTS ON OUR DESIGN AND OUR NEW, THIS NEW DESIGN WILL INCLUDE THE FILTER BUILDING IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BATH HOUSE.

SO IT'S ALL ONE CONTINUOUS BUILDING JUST TO KIND OF GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHERE WE WERE AND WHERE WE ARE NOW.

UM, SO USING THE SUN TO ACTUALLY ELIMINATE THOSE ROOMS INSTEAD OF JUST ELECTRICITY, UM, AS WE GO DOWN TO THE NORTH AND SOUTH ELEVATIONS, UH, IN THE FRONT, YOU WILL SEE THERE THAT WE HAVE TWO, 500 GALLON RAINWATER HARVESTING TANKS.

UH, THOSE RAINWATER HARVESTING TANKS CAN BE USED FOR IRRIGATION AND OTHER THINGS LIKE THAT.

AND THAT'S ALSO ANOTHER PART OF OUR, UH, GRANT WITH TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT.

UM, ON THE SOUTH ELEVATION, YOU WILL SEE THOSE DOUBLE WINDOWS THAT SHONDA JUST MENTIONED.

UH, AGAIN, THOSE ARE TO SERVE BOTH THE PARKSIDE AND THEN ALSO THE AQUATIC SIDE.

I THINK THOSE ARE IN MY MIND, SOME IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THE PARK.

SO, UH, IF THERE'S ANY WAY NOT TO MINIMIZE IT, BUT TO MAYBE MAXIMIZE OUR SHADE WITH BUDGET ALLOWS, I THINK THAT'S THE ROUTE I WOULD HOPE THAT WE PURSUE DEFINITELY.

THE SECOND QUESTION IS THAT THE ZERO, UM, ENTRANCE AREA, IS THAT SUPPOSED TO KIND OF MIMIC THE STATE OF TEXAS OR IS IT JUST KIND OF, THAT'S THE WAY IT LOOKS ON THE GRAPHIC? UH, IT WASN'T INTENTIONAL, BUT IT'S DEFINITELY A BALANCE.
